Three Categories of Scholarships

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS):

Open to eligible 300-level students studying Science and Technology-related courses in Nigerian public tertiary institutions. Scholarships are awarded until graduation upon meeting grade requirements.

MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS):

Targeted at eligible 200 and 300-level blind students studying any course in Nigerian public tertiary institutions.

Top 10 UTME Scholarship:

Since 2020, the top 10 scoring candidates of UTME (as announced by JAMB) automatically qualify for this scholarship. Candidates receive scholarships from their 100 level through graduation upon meeting grade requirements.

  • To apply for MTN Scholarships 2024, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Students must be enrolled in a Nigerian public tertiary institution (university, polytechnic, or college of education).
  • For the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship, students must major in science or technology-related fields.
  • Visually impaired students can apply for the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students.
  • Students must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class upper credit) for STEM students in public universities and colleges of education.

  • Blind students must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 for universities and colleges of education and 2.0 for public polytechnics.
